About What I Read This Week: I read a lot. All the time. Too much. I’d like to be held accountable. During my day-to-day, I keep a Google doc that I update with an article name, URL, and a quote of everything I read or watch. I blog the list every Friday.

Well, well, well. Two weeks of near-to-no reading. My sister stayed with us for a few days, so if there was an area here for visiting museums, I’d list the Contemporary Jewish Museum and the de Young.

It happened. I read only two handfuls of links this week. Here’s a theory—I quit social media on Monday for a week sabbatical. That and I’m focused on an Etsy shop update deadline, took two classes, and cooked quite a bit. What a welcome break for my brain! New for you—there’s a list of tv watched too, all compliments of Netflix.

On Television

  • Rosemary and Thyme – Season 1
  • Orange is the New Black finale
  • Cosmos: A Personal Voyage by Carl Sagan (“The Shores of the Cosmic Ocean” and “One Voice in the Cosmic Fugue”)
  • Jean-Michel Basquiat: The Radiant Child

UPDATE: I forgot two links, now added. That changes the two handfuls of links to two handfuls with the assist of two toes.

Finally, it’s here! A week I didn’t over-read. I get very tired. And this was a reaction to having one week to myself after much disruption over the month. Also all that extra reading time went into watching the bear cam. Amazing nature!

You’d think that having no internet for two days might cut down on reading. Wrong! I obsessed a little bit this week, obviously about the upsetting George Zimmerman verdict in my home state, and then again with the watching of Gasland. Oh, and rock candy. Sweet politics!

As you might tell by browsing the list, there was not as much reading this week so much as video watching. I had a backlog to clear out, ya’ll! I also spent some of the time (and didn’t record it) catching up with a few classes I took online—Hand-Drawn Typography and Mati Rose’s Daring Adventures in Life and Paint. Learning and fun, fun and learning! Where does a lady stop?
